Traffic in and around Swainsboro Primary School can become quite congested during times of student drop-off and pick-up. Parents, family members and others are asked to all of these safety procedures:
Students may be dropped off only at the front entrance.
During drop-off times please make sure your child exits your vehicle from the right door on to the sidewalk.
Please do not create two lanes of traffic during drop-off times. For safety reasons, please follow the one lane of traffic.
Parents or persons picking up student(s) must wait in the pick-up car line and must have a school issued pick-up tag with the student’s name on it. This procedure is in place to provide the best safety measures for students.
NO outside traffic is permitted in the bus area. It is not permissible to park there and “run in” to drop off or pick up a child, even though that area is more convenient for some parents/family members. Please park in designated areas only. Cars may not park in the fire lanes – ever. Failure to adhere to this guideline will result in calls to law enforcement.
If you are asked to move your vehicle for any reason, please recognize that this request is for the safety of all students – including your own.
In the afternoons, traffic in front of the school is at its most congested. No staff is available to assist with traffic control and parking. Please show each other courtesy.
Use extreme caution in watching for children. Parents must keep their children with them at all times. There have been past incidents of children running ahead of their parents and darting between cars. Safety is of the utmost importance.
Auto accidents on school premises are under the jurisdiction of the Swainsboro Police Department.
