BOOKBAGS
  • Book bags with wheels on them are prohibited due to safety concerns.

                                                          

FUNDRAISING

  • During the school year, various events will be held to raise funds to benefit the instructional programs of Swainsboro Primary School.  Participation in fundraising events is totally optional.  Such activities will be announced, and parents will receive pertinent information and details. 

OUTDOOR PLAY

  • Students have 30-minutes of recess time each day.  
  • Swainsboro Primary School staff monitors student safety and behavior on the playground.  
  • Fresh air and sunshine are beneficial to all students; however, children are not taken outside in inclement weather. During cool weather, regularly scheduled outdoor recess is cancelled if the outdoor temperature is 40 degrees or colder. During warm weather, regularly outdoor scheduled recess is cancelled if the outdoor temperature is 95 degrees or warmer.
EXTRA CLOTHING / LOST AND FOUND
  • A minimum amount of extra clothing is kept for emergencies.  These items are intended as “loaner” items and should be washed and returned after using.
  • Please send a change of clothes to school with your child in case of an accident. EVERY student should keep a change of clothes at school in case of emergencies.
  • Lost and found items will be stored in the office.  If your child loses something, please contact the office immediately.  
  • All clothing and personal property should be clearly marked with the name of the student.

 

PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
  • Students will be given the opportunity to recite the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America during each school day.
  • Parents who do NOT wish for their child to participate in reciting the pledge should notify the teacher in writing. Students not participating in the Pledge should either stand or remain seated respectfully. 
  • We ask that all adults inside the school during this time also show respect by stopping and not talking during the pledge and moment of silent reflection.
